While this is a one-man show, we will be auditioning the role of the COP. Written as a voice recording originally in the 80s when the piece premiered, we are moving the show and its technology to the present day, and will be filming these segments as clips of interrogation videos. These will be filmed prior to the production, precise timeline TBD.

We are interested in casting two cops for these interrogation videos. We welcome actors of all ethnicities and genders to audition for these roles.

If you’re having trouble signing up, make sure you’re logged into the site (see Log In button at the top). If you have recently logged into the site for the first time, click on the ‘My Account’ link in the top right, add your biography, fill in the “Full Name” text box, and write in any other information you wish to include. Including your full name in your biography allows us to view who has signed up for which audition time slot.

We are so happy that you would like to audition for McDeath! If you are interested in re-imagining Shakespeare for the present day and making art that addresses major social issues, this just might be the show for you.

Please take a look at the list of characters we’ve uploaded. Think about which characters you might want to play; then, with that in mind, select a side to perform for us at the auditions. No memorization is necessary; just come with a smile and the willingness to make bold choices! We are so, so excited to see how talented you are.

Please prepare 32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre song. An accompanist will be provided. Sides will be available on the YDC website and at auditions. Performers of all ethnicities and genders are encouraged to audition.  Auditions will be held in LC 211.

Please arrive several minutes early to fill out an information sheet.
