CANCELLED: Remembering: Stories of Women at Yale

Remembering

In 1968, Yale said that women would not be admitted to Yale because it would interfere with the University’s goal of graduating 1,000 male leaders each year. In 1969, the first women were accepted into Yale College, transforming the spaces the school and slowly claiming space and a voice on this campus. This year, we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of these women’s revolutionary change.

Remembering: Stories of Women at Yale is a devised ensemble performance that will tell the stories, struggles, and triumphs of women and, ideally, gender non-conforming folks over the past 50 years. This performance will be part of the official (and only!) 50Y150  event for undergraduates and will take place on Cross Campus! This larger festival will include performances from other performing arts groups on campus and influential alumni speakers.

We are looking for collaborators of all genders, backgrounds, races/ethnicities, and experience levels. Everyone and anyone is welcome (to perform, to design, to write, to create) so please come join us!

If you are not interested in being a performer you do not have to audition - just reach out to me at mikaela.boone@yale.edu. If you are interested in performing and taking on another role (for example writing) please do sign up for an audition slot.

Come tell stories with us!

Remembering: Stories of Women at Yale was made possible with support from a Women at Yale Arts Grant as part of the 50 Women at Yale 150 Celebration.
