It’s 1989, and Veronica Sawyer has finally achieved popularity by befriending the Heathers, three deranged queen bees named (you guessed it) Heather. After Veronica accidentally feeds the head Heather in charge a drain-cleaner smoothie, J.D., the new kid in town with a chip on his shoulder and a mysterious past, convinces Veronica to forge a suicide note and make it look like Heather killed herself. As J.D. sets off a wave of revenge killings, copy-cat suicides, and bomb threats, Veronica realizes it’s up to her to restore balance to Westerberg High. Hilariously twisted and deeply moving, Heathers makes Mean Girls look like Sesame Street.
