Our New World

 

Inspired by the moments when we’re forced to make life-altering choices, Our New World is a concert celebration of reinvention from a moment of radical change.  A response to the thematic questions asked in Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World, this patchwork song cycle of musical theatre numbers speaks to the uncertainty of the world we are now living in, and the lack of knowledge of what the future will look like.

 

This show will be an extremely experimental production focusing on the process, as we help each other learn to navigate the virtual performance realm for the first time.  Using a combination of theatrical and filmmaking techniques, we will be reimagining songs from across the musical theatre spectrum in ways they traditionally would not be portrayed in order to tell stories that speak to us personally.  It will be entirely tailored to the people involved in order to allow us to truly have fun and build upon the theatrical community in our own way.
