CANCELLED: So, Betsy!

another american musical

by Sara Armstrong, Kyle Mazer & Will Wegner

So, Betsy!

So, Betsy! is an original musical about a group of three friends striving to understand what it means to leave a legacy as they embark on new chapters of their lives. They gather together every night to write a musical on a niche topic and tonight, they are writing about Betsy Ross—everything from her stance on the Revolutionary War to her relationship with the man who will eventually become her husband to her grappling with existence in a society that is uninterested in her legacy. The two seemingly disconnected worlds of reality and fantasy musical fuse as the tensions and secrets between the friends echo through Betsy’s story and Betsy’s own act of creation molds the process of the people telling her story.

So, Betsy! is made possible with the support of a Women at Yale Arts Grant as part of the 50 Women At Yale 150 Celebration.
