The Tomb

by Samantha Fisher

The Tomb graphic

It’s a Friday in April, 33 AD; two Roman soldiers, Appius and Septimus, have just been given the easiest job ever–keep guard over some dead guy in a tomb for the weekend. But mysterious things keep happening: people’s chopped-off-ears are getting magically healed, there’s a giant earthquake, and suddenly the body is missing. Appius and Septimus face a weekend full of corpses, teenage apostles, murder plots, resurrections, and the puzzling question of what a miracle really looks like. Balancing humor, explorations of faith, and self-discovery, The Tomb narrates a series of unfortunate events set in a charmingly relatable Roman Empire.
