Stupid Fucking Bird

Stupid Fucking Bird is an adaptation of Chekhov’s The Seagull. It asks us: what the fuck is art, why is making good art so fucking hard, and why should anyone give a flying fuck? Furthermore, how the hell are you supposed to deal with all of that on top of love and family? Stupid Fucking Bird is sad and strange and silly all at the same time. It dishes out existential dread and fart jokes in equal measure.

Because this play so thoroughly interrogates the artistic process, this production will carry that same attitude into the actual task of producing the show. We hope that everyone, regardless of their role on the team, will be excited to ask and answer hard questions, listen to each other, and discover the joy of making something wild and weird and true.
