The Speed of Trust

A Staged Reading of a New Play
The Speed of Trust

The Speed of Trust is a new play about trust amidst change and uncertainty. Set in the fictional small town of Gadsville, Idaho, the play follows three pairs of individuals who enter the grandest event in all of Gadsville, the annual three-legged race. As each team prepares for the race, they try to navigate the complex web of dreams, fears, losses, and loves that life offers them. The Speed of Trust urges us to consider how to move through an uncertain world with the knowledge that we are all inextricably bound to one another.

Through experimental and devising methods, this play was written and revised collectively by the cast and production team. Using a technique coined by the director called “Round-Robin Writing,” each scene was written by  at least three different authors. This process allowed the beautiful and heartfelt moments of this play to emerge from our collective consciousness and collective desire for storytelling.

The cast and production team of The Speed of Trust invites you to join us for a staged reading of the show on April 22nd-24th over Zoom. Check back soon for ticket information.
