Engaging with ensemble techniques revolutionized by the great experimental troupes of the last century, apply collaborative strategies to the generation of design and production elements. AND, do so in a setting where design, production, and management are not “service disciplines,” but have an equal place at the table with acting and text.Explore design as a story-telling mode as flexible and adaptive as the actor’s voice. Perhaps you have a “default” modality for your theatre-making: scenic charge, actor, lighting designer, playwright, stage manager, dramaturge… In Performing Design, you will unpack any assumptions about production roles and processes, and deepen your appreciation of the rich array of elements that shape a theatrical experience.An openness to cross-disciplinary influence.
