At Yale, John has played Benny in In the Heights and the roles of Deacon and Don in Call Me from the Grave, which he also produced. John is a tenor in the Yale Glee Club and studies voice with Gene Stenger. Prior to Yale, he was a participant in the prestigious American National Honors Choir at Carnegie Hall, a state winner and regional finalist in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition, and a National YoungArts Foundation Winner (Honorable Mention, 2016). John’s other theatre credits include, Caroline or Change, Hairspray, The Color Purple, Ragtime, Little Shop of Horrors, and The King and I. He has attended intensive Summer Vocal Academies at the UNC School of the Arts and Oberlin Conservatory of Music, as well.
