Salutations! If you’re reading this then you are hopefully interested in acting in a Shakespeare production this coming spring semester! You’re also likely wondering why I haven’t actually said what show we’ll be putting on. This is because the goal of this production is to have fun and build community during the rehearsal process. In accordance with that, the show will be chosen based on the role preferences of those who audition. All those who audition will be accepted as part of the cast and must fill out this form, which will help us cast you in a role you’ll have fun playing! You must also register for an audition slot. Auditions will be held in room LC 203 on the 18th and in LC 204 on the 19th. You will be asked to perform any Shakespearean monologue of your choice. It need not be memorized, may be any length you feel comfortable with, and you may cut it however you see fit. See the audition materials for suggested monologues. If you are unable to make it to the in person auditions, you may also send a recording of yourself performing your monologue and email it to che.guerra@yale.edu by January 20th. The chosen play will be revealed before callbacks, which will be fairly informal and held on the 23rd. It will be a Shakespeare play and will be cut down to about two hours in length.
