Firstly, thank you for your interest in auditioning for our show! We can’t wait to see what you bring to the room.
Reminder that attending the audition workshop is not mandatory for auditioning, but it would be lovely to see your face there!
Below you will find the audition sides all in the same document. There is a handy table of contents to make things easier. You will select a monologue for the role you wish to be considered for and get a little familiar with it. You don’t have to memorize it at all but it may be helpful for while you audition to have given it a couple of reads and played around with how the words sound on your tongue. You will also select a prop to bring with you that is relatively unbreakable and not mess conducive. You will be asked why you brought that specific prop but you don’t have to have any sentimental reason behind it. If it was literally the first thing you saw that wasn’t breakable, then tell us exactly that! It can be absolutely anything at all that you wouldn’t feel any kind of shame about carrying around on campus and asked to use in the audition room. The last thing I will ask you to bring is a special random skill that you have and this can literally be anythiiiiiiing. Really good at hoola hoop? Bomb. Can do a line drawing in less than a minute? Sickass. Can lick your elbow? Holy fucking shit. Can breakdance? I’m so damn jealous. Can do a one-handed push up? I can’t even do a two hander with a bent knee! Can speak high Valyrian? You’re automatically Scapino, auditions are done, you won.
Auditions will be individual auditions lasting about 20 minutes. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your audition to fill out your audition form. When you’re called in, you’ll perform your monologue once and then we will work together just to see what it would be like to do this show together. It cannot be stressed enough that there truly is no right or wrong. By the end of the day, you will hear whether or not you have gotten a callback. Callbacks will be Sunday October 9th and you will be asked in your callback email what time range works best for you that day. Tentatively callbacks will span from 11am to 2pm and the format will be group callbacks for the entire day.
