Audition For Marjorie Prime

Thank you so much for your interest in auditioning for Marjorie Prime! We encourage everyone to audition regardless of experience level or enrollment status for the semester, and are committed to helping your audition process go as smoothly as possible. Please note that audition tapes are due by 11:59 PM EST, September 12th.

To audition, follow these steps:

1.) Ignore the audition slots below (a quirk of this website) – all you have to do to audition is email us.

2.) Read through our audition packet (linked below and on our show’s main page) and choose a monologue that resonates with you. Then, record a video of yourself reading it!

3.) The phrase “self tape” might carry an image of perfect lighting and fancy backgrounds with it, but please know that’s not what we’re expecting. We recognize that everyone is dealing with different set-ups, resources, and technology/internet access right now – all we care about is seeing you perform! If you’re worried or confused about any aspect of setting up a self tape, don’t hesitate to reach out to our producer at eliza.macgilvray@yale.edu.

4.) Email your video, along with your name, class year, and cell number, to sarah.valeika@yale.edu and cc eliza.macgilvray@yale.edu.

5.) You did it! Take some time to relax while we’re watching your amazing video.

Callbacks will take place on September 16th and 17th, pending actor availability. If you’re called back for a role, please be prepared to engage in scene work with several other actors in a Zoom call. Remember that not getting a callback does NOT mean you’re not being considered for a role!

Casting cycle (the day actors are offered roles) will be on September 20th, starting at noon EST. Be sure to stay by your phone!

If you have questions and/or are concerned about any aspect of our audition process (there is truly no such thing as a silly question), reach out! Again, our biggest priority is creating a space where you feel comfortable and free to be creative.
