Audition For Lost Girl

Audition Instructions: 

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Lost GirlIf you are auditioning for a female role, please prepare monologue #1. If you are auditioning for a male role, please prepare monologues #2 and #3. They DO NOT need to be memorized, but be comfortable enough with the material so that you aren’t just reading the monologue but showcasing your interpretation of the lines. 

You will also be asked to read sides from the play during your audition. The sides will be excerpts of the dialogue from the play that you will read with someone in the audition room. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early to your audition. Auditions will be held in Crown Down, 305 Crown Street. If you cannot attend one of these auditions please contact the stage manager Sam Bezilla at sam.bezilla@yale.edu and he will schedule an alternative time. 
 
Monday 12/2, 5-8PM - Dramat Crown Down 001
Tuesday 12/3, 5-10PM - Crown Up 105

Auditions can be scary, but everyone in the room wants to see you succeed! If you haven’t auditioned before or if you’re feeling nervous, take a look at this helpful how to audition guide, attached below.

***Important info for first-years!!***
 
If you are signing up for auditions as a first-year, you will need to create a biography on this website (the YCA) before you will be able to complete the process and be listed on the roster. The steps to do so are as follows:
 
The new user needs to:
 
  1. Go to their account page and log in with their NetID
  2. Click the “Add your biography.” button
  3. Type in their “Full Name”, “First Name”, and “Last Name”
  4. The “Full Name” is what will be visible to producers on the sign-up list.
  5. If the “Full Name” slot is left blank, the producer will see a sign up with no name attached to it.
  6. Hit the save button at the bottom.

The following roles are doubled: Cora/A, Mother/B, Callie/C, Nina/D, Slightly/Detective, Toodles/Boy, Curly/Therapist, Nibs/Doctor
 
Wendy, F, 18-22: The protagonist, full of melancholy, longing, and hope, with an undercurrent of tough determination.
Peter, M, 18-22: Charismatic in a soft, sneaky way. He’s not the bad guy. He has a side of the story just as complicated as Wendy’s.
A, B, C, D; 18-22: Female chorus, different versions of Wendy – memories distorted through time, other girls who went to Neverland.
Mother, F, 40s: Wendy’s mother, tired but patient
Cora, F, 18-22: Another girl who went to Neverland, 
Callie, F, 18-22: Another girl who went to Neverland, Romantic, but self-aware.
Nina, F, 18: Researching girls who were taken to Neverland and trying to interview Wendy. Sweet. Comes across as fragile and even a bit ditzy, but she knows what she wants and how to get it.
Slightly, M, 18-22: A Lost Boy who returned from Neverland with Wendy and is in love with her. Brooding, kind, and fiercely loyal.
Toodles, M, 18-22: A Lost Boy who returned from Neverland with Wendy. Silly and sincere.
Nibs, M, 18-22: A Lost Boy who returned from Neverland with Wendy. Logical. Acerbic.
Curly, M, 18-22: A Lost Boy who returned from Neverland with Wendy. Laidback and observant.
Detective, M, 30s/40s: The detective assigned to Wendy and her siblings’ case when they initially disappeared. Single-minded but always on the edge of defeat.
Therapist, M, 30s/40s: Wendy’s therapist. Trying his best
Doctor, M, 30s/40s: Wendy’s doctor. Even-tempered.
Boy, M, 18-25: Has a brief romance with Wendy but feels unable to connect with her due to her preoccupation with Peter. Quiet confidence.
