Audition For how to go home

Audition Instructions:

Thank you so much for your interest in auditioning for how to go home! (If you’re having trouble signing up, make sure you’ve clicked “log in” in the top right of your screen)

Our show is ensemble-based, so each audition slot will center around group work. After introducing ourselves, we’ll do some work with story circles (in which each person will have a chance to share a story in response to the previous person). This will be a chance to get to know one another, as well as participate in one of the improvised portions of the play.

If you’ve never heard the term “story circle” before, don’t worry! The exercise is designed to be uncomplicated, spontaneous, and accessible. There’s no need to prepare any kind of monologue, story, or other material in advance – we’re looking for strong storytellers, regardless of past theatre experience. Whether you’ve been acting since age 5 or are just trying something new, we’re excited to have you involved!

Our Saturday and Monday auditions will be held in YK220 001, and our Wednesday auditions will be held in WLH 113. Please plan to arrive about 5 minutes before your audition slot. A QR code linking to an audition form will be available outside the audition room (but don’t stress if you have to finish it up after your slot ends). See our audition packet below for further details (character breakdown, synopsis, etc)!

You can find our audition form at tinyurl.com/how2gohome ; the link will also be posted outside the audition room.
