Thank you for your interest in Juba, or Jump!. Two of the show’s three roles have been precast; the third and final role, Eloise/Wanda, is written for a black woman, but we welcome black actors of any gender to audition, provided they would be comfortable portraying a woman onstage.
Before signing up for an audition, we recommend reading the Audition Packet to get a better sense of the show (including important content warnings), our team, and what we’re looking for! Once you’ve read that and selected your audition slot, please fill out this quick Google Form.
In lieu of solo auditions, all auditionees will read alongside our two other actors, Julian and Armanti. We do not presently plan to hold callbacks, but all auditionees will be notified if this plan changes.
Audition sides can be found both at the end of the Audition Packet and as individual files below. For your audition, please prepare (no need to memorize!) one of the two Eloise sides and one of the two Wanda sides. You may be asked to read a third or even fourth side, but there is no need to prepare more than two.
All auditions will take place in twenty-minute slots on Saturday, September 3 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Sunday, September 4 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Saturday’s auditions will take place in Room B66 of the Wright Reading Room in Sterling Memorial Library, and Sunday’s auditions will take place in Room L03 of Bass Library.
