The Yale Dramatic Association Spring Ex

by Walker Caplan

A bright, graphic, Yo-Yo yo-yoing.

Content Warning: This show includes references to suicide.

In the wake of the startling suicide of a yo-yo prodigy, Forest Ridge Middle School tries to heal — while also preparing for the yearly talent show. Following three of the deceased’s classmates and the adults who are supposed to take care of them, this dark comedy explores the place where empathy veers into selfishness, the ways misogyny permeates methods of care, and how sometimes “honoring others” means eroding oneself.
