by Jeanine Tesori and Brian Crawley

Violet, with a sweeping score by Jeanine Tesori and libretto by Brian Crawley, tells the story of a young woman’s journey of learning and healing as she travels from her small town in North Carolina to the bustling city of Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1964. Violet, scarred on her face by a logging accident as a child, boards a Greyhound bus for Tulsa, determined to meet the televangelist preacher she believes will heal her. With the help of soldiers Monty and Flick whom she befriends along the way, Violet must confront her own ideas of what it means to change, forgive, and to be yourself.

This show will be presented as a Theatre Studies Senior Project in Acting for Rebecca Salzhauer and will be staged in Fall 2022.
