Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992
Each person has a literature inside them. - Anna Deavere Smith
by Anna Deavere Smith
Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 was written by Anna Deavere Smith, whose goal has been “to find American character in the ways that people speak.” To that end, she has traveled around the country interviewing people and turning those interviews into monologues. This play is a series of monologues from interviews Smith conducted after the Rodney King beating and the ensuing riots in Los Angeles. A talkback will be held after each performance.
