A New Opera for All Ages

The Opera Theater of Yale College is delighted to present our December mainstage, a workshop of New York City-based composer and Yale alum Eric Schorr and Yale English professor and poet Cynthia Zarin’s brand-new opera, “Hey! Get Off Our Train”!

Based on an acclaimed 1989 children’s book, this charming, heartfelt show follows a child and his dog’s dream-journey on a train-come-to-life as they encounter various animals who ask to board. Through this comic lens, the piece explores the climate disaster, climate migration and displacement, and the ecological anxiety of our time for an audience of all ages.
