Chicago

CHICAGO is a Senior Project in Theater Studies for Jacqueline Blaska and Madi Cupp-Enyard.

Set in the mid-1920s, CHICAGO explores justice, media, attention, and identity as vaudeville performer Velma, celebrity criminal known for killing her husband, finds herself in jail (and a rivalry) with Roxie, bringing both women into a fight for fame and freedom. Throughout the show, we hear more stories from the other bold, intense characters that build this world of behind-the-bars drama, front page news, and all that jazz.

CHICAGO was made possible with support from a Women at Yale Arts Grant as part of the 50 Women at Yale 150 Celebration.
