Daphne Joyce Wu
After acting in theatre productions through middle and high school, Daphne began to obtain lead roles in award-winning student short films. She garnered praise for her principal role in Hindsight, a short film that won the Student World Impact Film Festival Drama award. Daphne starred in a romantic-comedy short film, Heartbreak Avenue, and an experimental film that won an award at the Serbest International Film Festival. She has appeared in a print commercial for Grace Coffee Co., print photos for Bearwalk and the State of Massachusetts, and an infomercial for the Middleton Recycling Center.
Recently, Daphne appeared in an ESPN/Dr Pepper commercial, acted in a short-film “Paper Dreams” by Nicole Viloria, and played the lead role, Confucius, in “A Play Named Zhuangzi” directed by the Yale Vermillion Theater.
Daphne studies acting at Yale University, HB Studio in NYC, Upright Citizens Brigade, and with Anthony Gilardi in Los Angeles.
