Are you excited to dance, dream, and discover something new together? Come to the audition workshop for The Memory Palace! The Memory Palace is a collaborative work of devised dance-theater to be staged in late April 2024. To create “The Memory Palace,” we will dance together through a series of questions including: how does the body remember? How does dancing transmit memory from body to body? How does dancing help you remember who you are, where you’ve been, and what you’ve danced before? What’s the earliest dance your body remembers doing? Can your body remember dances from before you were born? Can you dance a duet with the memory of a loved one? Can a dance transmit a memory from one body to another? Our methods to explore these questions will be expansive, including dancing, somatics, drawing, dreamwork, storytelling, experimenting with objects, and writing. It may be a dream, but it can be made real. All are welcome, including those who are new to dance and/or theater.
Audition workshops will be on Sunday January 28 3:30-5pm and Monday January 29 6:00-7:30pm. The workshop will be a relaxed environment in which we will be primarily dancing and doing some free-writing.
