Do you play an instrument? Do you love pop music and fun?
We are excited to announce that the wait is over! It is finally time for … *drumroll please*
DPops Auditions!!!
What is DPops? Well, we’re so glad you asked! DPops, or Davenport Pops Orchestra, is Yale’s only pops orchestra! We are entirely student-led (shout-out to our student conductors and composers), and we play music from your favorite movies, musicals, and TV shows!
As crazy as this year has been and as much as things have changed, we are not going to let that stop us from having an amazing year as an orchestra. We’ll be playing in person as 20 person mini orchestras and having ~fantastic~ social events. If you play an instrument (literally any instrument–it does not have to be one found only in a ~traditional orchestra~), and if you love (or even have the slightest liking for) pop music, you should audition for DPops! Auditions will occur from September 7 - 9 from 5:40 - 10:00 PM and will just be a ~2 minute solo piece and some sightreading – super chill! Sign up for an audition using this audition form (See the form and this flyer for more details).
Also be sure to check out our YouTube channel (Davenport Pops Orchestra) to see some of our past concerts! You can check out our website too. We look forward to seeing you at the Extracurricular Bazaar!
Note: For wind players, we will be providing bell covers and slit masks.
