Shaka is a Polynesian dance group that celebrates and shares traditional and modern styles of Hula and Tahitian dance with the Yale community. The popular Hawaiian gesture “shaka,” meaning “hang loose,” is used to convey the friendship, love, and compassion of the “Aloha Spirit” among friends and strangers alike.

Shaka aims to celebrate the Polynesian culture and Aloha Spirit with the Yale community by performing authentic dance from the islands of Hawaii and Tahiti.
