YSFF 2019 Filmmaking Masterclass with Giorgio Ferrero

 Giorgio Ferrero

The Yale Student Film Festival and the Department of Italian Language and Literature present a masterclass on independent filmmaking with award-winning director Giorgio Ferrero, whose debut feature Beautiful Things will screen at the YSFF opening night.

Ferrero’s seminar-sized masterclass will focus on the making of Beautiful Things, including notes from the original screenplay, photographs from production, and storyboard sketches. Ferrero will speak with students about scoring and sound design, visual post-production techniques, and strategies for producing films with small teams and micro-budgets. The class will also include a private screening of Ferrero’s documentary short Riverbero (2014) and a presentation of his recent virtual reality project Denoise (2017).
