YRC 71st Anniversary Concert
by the Yale Russian Chorus
Come join us to celebrate 71 years of the Yale Russian Chorus and its wide repertoire of Eastern European and Caucasian sacred and folk music!
Founded in 1953 by Denis Mickiewicz and George Litton at the height of the Cold War, the Yale Russian Chorus is a tenor-bass a cappella choral ensemble specializing in sacred and secular Slavic and Eurasian choral music. Throughout its 70-year history, we have primarily focused on fostering international understanding through music. It pioneered the first person-to-person cultural exchanges, singing informal concerts on Moscow street corners in 1958. The Chorus has won prizes at international choral competitions, serenaded government leaders at international functions, and recorded many albums.
