You Are Enough
by Dylan Schifrin
“All kids think it’s their fault when their parents get divorced. But adults have their own problems, like when my Mommy yells, ‘You reek of scotch again’ to my Daddy. I don’t think that it has anything to do with me.”
You Are Enough is a collection of three original one-act comedies that deal with the unwelcome yet all-too-familiar feeling of inadequacy. These short works aim to put our self-doubt into perspective by showing us how ridiculous it can be when we blow our failings out of proportion. Because even when all seems lost, you are still enough, and deserve to be proud of how far you’ve come.
The Plays:
The Exceptional Childhood Center: When a student at a competitive preschool messes everything up, he and the other highly gifted four-year-olds learn a lesson more valuable than the school could ever teach them.
Gwendolyn: A new employee at the nation’s third most successful backscratcher company falls in love with a cactus. What could go wrong?
Replay: Is it worth it to let go of the ones you love if it means forever escaping the pain of having loved them at all?
