The Void
by Derek DiMartini
In a world where identity isn’t stable, “The Void” follows people who are struggling to come up with a force that holds them together. A volatile journey through the complications and contradictions of the intimate and sexual relationships that constantly throw us into motion. It is a unique experience where text and movement are interwoven, and the poetic and physical permeate the attempts to reach out across the distance and truly make contact with the other. This is going to be a unique and collaborative rehearsal process, and we are looking for actors who are interested in contributing beyond just reading their lines. It’s an ensemble based work with plenty of speaking parts as well as physical work. We are casting both actors and dancers, so if you’re interested in strictly dancing in the performance, feel free to sign up for an audition. For Auditions, please prepare one of the two sides (either Clothes, or Alone Monologue) and be prepared to move.Any questions can be directed towards Christine Shaw at christine.shaw@yale.edu or Derek DiMartini at derek.dimartini@yale.edu
