Turpitude (yet another dance about the recession)
by Hugo Partouche (collaborative)
Turpitude is a collaborative dance project for four dancers and four actors with interest or experience in movement. Each dancer/actor will come to one or more rehearsal prepared to share a warm-up with all of us. Certain dances will be created by dancers/actors in small groups. Turpitude is a dance about uncertainty and trust, and, in some sense, a response to Keith Hennessy’s “Turbulence (a dance about the economy)”. It seeks to tap into different notions of equilibrium, relief, joy, and collaboration to address uncertainty. “Turpitude” is not what the show is about, it is what it criticizes.
