Tick, Tick…Boom!

by Jonathan Larson

Tick, Tick...Boom!

Johnny, a struggling composer, is turning 30. Johnny’s girlfriend Susan wants to move out of New York City. His best friend Michael has sold out, and keeps telling Johnny to come along. And Johnny…can’t decide. Before Jonathan Larson’s name became forever associated with “Rent,” he wrote “Tick, Tick…Boom!”, an autobiographical rock musical chronicling his life as an artist in early-90s New York. Filled with the same brilliant music and soulful themes that made “Rent” a worldwide sensation, “Tick, Tick…Boom!” explores early life crises, relationships, sugar cravings, creativity, waitering, and the struggle to do what you love in a world that does not always love what you do.Please note that since we are going up Parents’ Weekend, we are willing to consider non-traditional showtimes to accommodate our actors’ schedules. Don’t let Parents’ Weekend obligations stop you from auditioning!AUDITIONS: Prepare 16 bars of a contemporary Broadway or pop/rock song of your choice. **If you would like piano accompaniment, please bring piano sheet music for your song, written in the key of your choice.** Audition sides are located at the bottom of the page.
