Arkadina, a famous yet aging actress, brings her lover, the novelist Trigorin, to her brother’s country estate. There, they encounter Arkadina’s son, the aspiring author Konstantin, and Nina, the aspiring actress he’s in love with. Nina’s attraction to Trigorin triggers familial, romantic, and artistic conflicts. Set in Russia at the end of the 19th century, The Seagull explores love, success, and the realities that impede our desires.
