A Senior Project in Theatre Studies for Clio Contogenis
by William Shakespeare - Adapted by Kate Pincus and Leah Osterman
This adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic love story takes a laser focus on its two titular characters. They are the only two characters onstage: the rest of the play’s numerous dramatic personae emerge from the ether of Juliet and Romeo’s mental lives - memories, associations, and premonitions - in the form of projections, filmed images, light, and sound. It becomes a story of intimacy and brevity: intensely close up and over too soon.
