Reality Check

by Jesse Schreck

Poster of Reality Check

Reality Check is a smart and witty play about the triumphs and tragedies that take place on set and behind the scenes of a reality TV Show.Sid, a slick but aging TV producer, tries to save his “Big Brother” style reality show from failing ratings with a crazy new twist. This year, in addition to the dumb jock, the stuck up snob and the peppy bimbo, Sid decides to put someone different on the show–someone NORMAL. This clash of characters (along with the constant conniving of the show’s executives) unearths a whirlwind of drama, revealing to the audience and the characters that nothing is just as it seems. A unique opportunity to see a staged reading of a brand new play, with a talkback afterwards with the playwright, director and actors about the process of originating a script for the stage.
