A Practical Guide To Getting Unlost
by Rose Bae and Catherine Alam-Nist
An original devised piece centring themes of isolation, fear, and redemption, A Practical Guide to Getting Unlost takes us through the story of Fran, who has lost friends, colleagues and family members to the point that she wonders if there’s any way for her to recover what’s disappeared. Through journeying through a strange world called The Diabolical Land Of The Unforgettable Alone, we see her (quite literally) wrestle with her demons, and discover for herself that while perhaps you can never go back to the person you used to be after a heartbreak, if you’re alive, and you have a few people who still love you, perhaps there might just be hope after all.
A Practical Guide To Getting Unlost is the culmination of a year-long Studio Fellowship at the Centre of Collaborative Arts and Media for Catherine Alam-Nist.
It is dedicated to the memory of Allison Nist: aunt, doctor, poet, painter, and all-around magical human being, whose influence continues to hearten and inspire.
