A Midsummer Night’s Dream

The Yale Dramatic Association's Spring Mainstage

by William Shakespeare

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Set in Athens and a nearby enchanted forest, the play follows four young lovers who flee into the woods, where their romantic entanglements are further complicated by the interference of fairies. Meanwhile, a group of amateur actors rehearses a play for the Duke’s wedding, only to get caught up in the magical mischief. Through a mix of mistaken identities, love potions, and comedic misunderstandings, the play explores the irrational nature of love and the blurry line between reality and fantasy.
