Liminal
by Nathaniel Dolquist
If we do not transform our pain, we will inevitably transmit it -Richard Rohr”Liminal” is an original piece of audience participation ritual theater. 16 participants per night will undergo a 90-120 minute ritual experience. Wear clothes you can move/dance in. The production utilizes strobe effects. The ticket system is set up to allow only one ticket per email address. This is so that our producer Gineiris Garcia can send you an information sheet that you must sign and return before you may participate in the event. If you require more than one ticket, please use the email address of the other person attending so that we might send them the relevant information. In the event that you cannot attend one of the listed shows, please contact gineiris.garcia@yale.edu for alternate options. From Mary Marsden of the Animus Valley Institute:”Ceremony is a symbolic enactment of what we want to say, mark, acknowledge and/or celebrate. We enact ceremony to deepen (or consciously initiate) conversation with the Sacred Otherness of Life, that which is of us and more than us and at the same time other than us: the transpersonal, the Great Mystery, the Cosmos, God, Gaia, the Holy in Nature, Soul, the Goddess. Gratitude! Help! I shed this too-tight skin. Yes! I’m at your service. I am lost. I’m listening. We might perceive the sacred Other as expressed through that exotic other appearing as a frog or a raven, the wind or silence, a saguaro or a blade of grass, a mysterious dream image or a woman speaking from her heart in the council circle, the voice of God, an entranced dancer, or a poem or painting.”
