“If Its Whisper Carries”

A Song Cycle

by Agata Sorotokin

If Its Whisper Carries

For her senior thesis, Agata Sorotokin is translating twentieth-century Russian poetry by Osip Mandelstam and Olga Sedakova, composing music for a song cycle based on these texts. “If Its Whisper Carries” is written for two soloists, string quartet, chamber chorus, and piano. The presentation of the cycle will be followed by a brief discussion of the translation project.
