Henry IV

by William Shakespeare

Poster of Henry IV

King Henry the Fourth is one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays: about relationships, honor, and who gets to write our history – and who gets left out. What does it mean to live honestly as a real person in an inevitably political time? Shakespeare rewrote his national history with this play, reclaiming his country’s founding myths for everyone, not just the kings and noblemen, and we’re continuing that perpetually unfinished work for our own time. Our cast is all female or non-binary actors; we’ll be exploring what it means to break open centuries of kingship, as well as how we can change the way we tell our history.
