The Effect

The Effect by Lucy Prebble

The Effect is a clinical love story—it follows Connie and Tristan, two volunteers for an antidepressant drug trial, and the doctors overseeing it, Dr. Lorna James and Dr. Toby Sealey. As the trial progresses, Dr. James and Dr. Sealey’s past experiences reveal their stake in the trial. Connie and Tristan begin to fall in love, but are forced to face the question: is their love real, or just side effects of the drug?
