Desire Above All Else

Penelope, an accomplished professor, is put on trial for the murder of her husband. Penelope calls on the ancient Greek poet, Sappho, to inspire her as she delivers her testimony full of lust, desperation, and dead ends. As the audience –– who composes the jury –– picks its way through the convoluted threads of her memory, it becomes clear that someone in the room is insane –– but who?
