Bug

by Tracy Letts

Bug

Tracy Letts’s 1996 play Bug centers Agnes, a hermitized divorcée, and Peter, a Gulf War veteran. And of course, bugs. Set in Agnes’s Oklahoma City motel room, the play kicks off when her lady lover R.C. introduces her to Peter, who has nowhere to sleep that night. Agnes offers her floor, and later her bed. As their relationship escalates, Peter reveals his theories about the government, technology, and that pesky bug infestation they can’t seem to get rid of. While R.C. becomes concerned and Agnes’s ex-husband grows more violent, Agnes decends into paranoia with Peter as the play builds toward an explosive ending.

BUG is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Dramatists Play Service.
