Blossoms Shanghai Poster

Blossoms Shanghai is a play adapted from the novel Blossoms written by Jin Yucheng, recently directed by Wong Kar-wai. A panorama of China during the Economic Reform in the 1990s, Blossoms Shanghai displays a city gleaming with opportunities and hope. At the same time, the play is also a nostalgic nod to the past. Reflecting on China in the 1960s, the story captures shimmers of tender love and traditional values under the oppression of an Authoritarian regime and amidst the upheaval of major political events (e.g., the Cultural Revolution).

This event will be hosted by Ancient Chinese Traditions Club (ACTC) in collaboration with Yale Vermilion Theater.
