The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

*The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee* tells the story of a regional round of the national spelling bee - where we meet the strange, determined and ultimately endearing little adolescents who, throughout the course of the bee, experience the archetypical throes of puberty and self-consciousness that go hand in hand with middle school - like ill-timed erections and having a dictionary be your best and only friend. With them are three adults who, while ostensibly in charge and tasked with running the bee, are forced to reckon with their own lives and choices as grown-ups as they watch these nascent adults begin theirs.
