24 Hours and Change
by Yale Students
The YDC presents 24 Hours And Change, our second 24-hour theater festival, focusing this semester on themes of (you guessed it!) change. The first 12 hours (8pm on Sept. 21 to 8am on Sept. 22) is for the playwrights to write their 15-30 minute pieces based on prompts (a sentence and a prop) given to them the night before. Then directors will have two hours to look over the script, and finally the actors will join the directors and rehearse until the performance on Sept. 22 at 8pm. It will be a really exciting way to bond with other members of the theater community and produce student-written work in a low-key, fun setting. Particularly if you are a freshman, it is a great way to get to know other people in the theater community. If you are interested in participating as an actor, director, or playwright, please contact alexandra.viterbi@yale.edu. The time commitment is only the hours in which the festival takes place (so some time over Sept. 21 and Sept. 22). It’s going to be SO much fun and we hope to see you there!
