The 11th Yale Jazz Festival: Wes Lewis

Join us Friday, April 12th, to kick off the 11th Annual Jazz Festival @ Yale with the Wes Lewis Trio!!  Wes is a saxophonist, composer, and multi-disciplinary PhD student at Yale University.  In addition to completing a PhD in Computations Biology and Bioinformatics, Wes has studied under multiple Grammy award-winning musicians including Wayne Escoffery, Abraham Burton, and George Caldwell.  Wes is a member of the Yale Jazz All-Stars and has performed with the Grammy-winning Mingus Big Band and tenor saxophone giant George Coleman among other Jazz greats.  He has also played at famed venues such as Dizzy’s (Jazz @ Lincoln Center) and Scullers Jazz Club.  The Wes Lewis Trio will surely be the perfect start to your weekend!  Thank you to The Yale College Arts Discretionary Fund and The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven for their generous funding!
