Yale University School of Medicine, developing scientific research in cardiovascular biology.
Degree in Chemistry/Biotechnology (B.S./M.S.); finished a PhD in Developmental Biology, Portugal. During PhD I had the possibility to work as an assistant instructor of the “EMBO Practical Course on 3D Developmental Imaging”. I specialize in developmental biology of vertebrates: neural crest and pharyngeal arch development, growth factor signaling studies in endothelial and smooth muscle cells, and various genetic manipulations and functional studies in adult mice.

I have also a dance/theatre background – having trained as a dancer from 1992-­?
2002; I developed and performed in Researchers Night 2009: Setting the stage in Portugal, a theatre project funded by the European commission aimed to artistically communicate science. As a dance performer I participated in the following projects directed by Sofia Neuparth: KitchQ.B.(1993), "Contos Curtos "(1997), "40 performers para Turistas"(1998), "1001 Rosas para 3 noites" and Hibern (2002). As an actress I participated in several theatre projects: The oldest profession in the world, Boris Vian (1997); Three sisters Anton Chekhov (1998); Bourgeois Wedding Bertolt Brecht (2001), "L'Equarrissage pour tous", Boris Vian (2002), O "Libertino" from Luiz Pacheco, Peace by Aristophanes (2003).
