Yaledancers: Broadway Debut

silhouette playbill style program

Yaledancers Spring 2026 Showcase

Founded in 1973, Yaledancers is Yale’s first and oldest open-style student dance company. Affectionately known as “YD,” we comprise dancers from a wide range of training backgrounds— ranging from professional dancers to those who have danced more recreationally, from ballet conservatory alumni to commercial dance competition veterans. YD is committed to sharing and performing a wide range of dance styles, including, but not limited to, ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and heels. Between performances, YD holds weekly company rehearsals, often bringing in guest teachers, like principal dancers from New York City Ballet or Universal Studios choreographers. Beyond a company, YD is a tight-knit community, with dancers forging friendships that last for years to come.
