MUZIKO: Cycles of Sound and Season (Featuring Dhvani, YUJC, and YUCO)
MUZIKO comes from the word for “music” in Esperanto, a constructed language belonging to no single nation or tradition. As a collaborative performance, MUZIKO bridges Indian classical music styles with Jazz and Western orchestration. Featuring Yale Dhvani, the Yale Undergraduate Jazz Collective, and the Yale Undergraduate Chamber Orchestra, the concert moves through original compositions that weave together raga, harmony, and improvisation across multiple traditions. Through a multi-genre jugalbandhi (call-and-response) rooted in raga tradition, MUZIKO becomes a one-of-a-kind springtime concert reflecting the unifying theme of renewal. With gratitude to support from: Schwarzman Center, Asian American Cultural Center (AACC), and the Intercultural Affairs Countil (IAC) at Yale University.
