Let’s travel back in time to Versailles. You know her name, you’ve heard her story, but do you know everything?

Before she was a punchline, she was a teenager. Playwright David Adjimi sets the infamous queen into a world of towering wigs, reality-TV gossip, and modern slang. We follow Marie Antoinette from pampered “It Girl” of Versailles to public enemy number one, as the French Revolution closes in and her palace becomes her jail. Our play asks what happens when the whole world decides to hate one woman, and whether she ever had a chance to be anything else. Was she the perpetrator, the product of a problem, or both?
